Recently, voice memo’ing a friend, I happened to tell her a story which she said she liked. So this is the transcription of that spoken anecdote. I played the voice memo aloud on my phone using siri/Notes app to transcribe using my computer.

Sorry to hear about your spiders (laugh). There’s something really funny about you having all this disdain for the spiders that have come into your house. I know how they feel. (Laugh). But you know actually I gotta say one time — one of my first girlfriends when I was like, I don’t know 17, 18 she was this really spooky girl. But a great artist. But in her bedroom she would — well she had a big spider problem because they lived in the Valley near a meadow like you. And she smashed the spiders on the wall. And they would leave like a corpse of smoosh, you know. And when she would do this, she would not clean off the corpse of the spider. She would circle it instead with a sharpie and then write the date of death. Her entire bedroom was covered in these — these spots with these— these little memorials… and I loved her.
