New years Eve.
She ribs his terrible reputation.
Jimmy incinerates his pride into a sigh,
trying in real-time to prove he’s not a guy who deserves more jail-time,
when she offers the advice:
Relax, be hot about it.

Honest from 4000 miles away
Poland!Mexico!Montreal!
Thats the way he usually plays
But here was a girl who lived in town
Who had heard all the bad things about Jimmy Komma
And was still down.

“Her dad’s probably not unlike me,” thinks Jimmy,
Showing his daughter that he’s no longer a nazi, stronger now for having once been
faulty

8 years ago, Jimmy started to fear black cats
They reminded him of his permanent past
In fact, one black cat on his path was all it took for
Jimmy to spend 48 hours in a dark room undoing from his brain somany fishhooks

Now, Jimmy lies his back onto the rocks of a ravine
And he cannot help himself
he is auditioning; even as he is listening
to her treatise on how black cats get unfairly treated 
cuz of propaganda & conditioning

“Terribly persecuted over time. 
Black cat and ‘evil’ have practically been made to rhyme—”
“It’s fucking asinine,” agrees Jimmy, sparking a cigarette after debating whether or not to for the 29th time.
The German Shepherd pays close attention to the clouds of smoke drifting into his coat.

“Must you smoke? The Winds are coming soon, I hear...”

“I love when you talk like a white witch. ‘winds are coming soon, I hear, with your lil elven ears,
c’mere…!
 remember New Years Morning,
when you asked me for Advil and a banana?”

“That was 5 days ago.”

“Right. And I had no banana
so I got you an apple
and watched you eat it in my bed.
I still had the taste of eating you out in my mouth
and “I like clean air,” that’s what you said.
So I opened my windows to let the NewYear light in
And you laid back onto a square of sunshine
that is usually all mine,
You ate my apple and,
you cried,
Out of love for  “Apples, Animals, Earth, Sunshine…”
On cue, Jimmy reveals
A bag of apples inside his overpacked backpack
“This the most beautiful ravine I’ve ever seen
Thank you for bringing me here 
on y’all’s Sunday routine…"
